ANNOUNCEMENTS: (Non VREC events that may interest our members)

Circle F Horse Rescue presentation-Walter Paetkau

Trail Safety and Self Defence  Free seminar with Bill Richie.  

This free clinic will be held on Friday July 1st from 7-9ish at White Dove Farm in Chilliwack. Please contact Debbie Hughes for further information 604 858 7724

Bomb-proofing Clinic with Bill Richey-National Mounted Police Services- There will be a clinic in Hope, B.C. on June 18th-19th, Pemberton on June 25th-26th and two more in Chilliwack at White Dove Stables on June 29th-30th (Wed/Thur) and July 2nd-3rd (Sat-Sun) call Deb at 604-858-7724 or hughesgh@telus.net   $25 auditors including food and beverages.

 

Aldergrove Lake Park 
The process to create the Management Plan for this big, beautiful public space is now underway. An Open House to kick off the planning process will be held on Tuesday, June 28th from 4:00-9:00pm, at Aldergrove Community Secondary School. Drop in to learn more about the park and share ideas on what you think the park should include.

BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

 

o    Understanding the Foundation of Excellence; Lori Stancik from Auburn WA. 1.5 – 2 day clinic, reining, body control,  $150 pp for 1.5 days; max 10 persons – schedule for the Fall/11 in the Fraser Valley. 5 members signed up so far.
 

o    Polocrosse practice possibly September-please sign up

o    Campbell Valley Equestrian Society

o    May day Parade-VREC won 1st place for equestrian division

o    Photo disclaimer –if you have not done so already, please sign the photo disclaimer.

o    Pictures for our annual calendar/AGM

o    Trailer Rodeo; Darcy. Possibly Sept 10/11 or Sept 17/18 date with Kevan Garecki

  

UPCOMING PLANNED EVENT

July 16 ~ photo / pizza day:
3 PM; Campbell Valley Equestrian Parking Lot; ready to ride. Depending on how many we are, we may split into two groups and go opposite directions to ride the whole park.
5 PM; back at our trailers; hay and water our horses
5:30 PM: we will pre order pizza to be delivered to the park ~ everyone to chip in. Bring your own beverages.
6 PM; clean up, 1/2 of the group will saddle up and ride with the remaining group (with their cameras) to an area suitable for photos either standing or moving.
6:30-7ish; Switch functions; other half rides; remainder takes photos. We ask that if you plan to ride that you also plan to reciprocate on the photography side.

July 24  ~ Tack Cleaning Party/horseshoe tournament in Kendra’s backyard. 2-6 pm Potluck nibbles/drinks  

July 30th canceled Historic Brigade Days Parade in Fort Langley– canceled- may be rescheduled for Mayday 2012 street dance in the planning process

August 7th Play-day and potluck dinner Twin Creeks, $25 per horse for use of facility.  Paddocks may be available $10, Includes hay, and mucking out. 2-4:30 pm; potluck about 5:30, Performances by club members encouraged - pas-de-deux, Quadrille, drill teams are welcome! Re-gift time!!  Please bring a gift for yourself and partner that you would like to re-gift.  This is a highlight of the day.

August 16,17,18 ~ Old Ladies Camp at PRDA.  Full, wait list only. Everyone is welcome to a potluck dinner Wednesday august 17th at PRDA  5:30ish “Activate your horse’s core” Hilary Clayton

Sept 7 - 11th ~ Trip to Spruce Meadows Masters- show of interest in sign up binder

Sept 20 ~ VREC General Meeting 7pm St Andrews Church. 9025 Glover Road, Fort Langley-Women’s’ Self Defence with Carla Webb

September 23-26  ~ 7+1/2 Diamond – Aspengrove, Merritt-Camping/ RVing may be an option

2 spaces left. Suzanne will take the deposits.($50) (18 paddocks available). Pay by cash
